Jelly in their wellies
Team Loch Fyne at the Alderley Edge restaurant has boldly embarked on a 10.2k walk with jelly in their wellies.
It was a fun-packed day, despite the non-stop rain, and the walk to raise funds for the RNLI took over three and a half hours, but also included an obligatory stop at the pub for much needed chips.
Former manager, Kiri Ham, came up with the original welly walk idea for charity and supervisor, Nicola Shaw, organised the event. Starting at Loch Fyne in Knutsford, the team, which included Sophia Johnson, Emily Carey, Adam Cooper and Callum Stewart, ended up in a very soggy state at the Alderley Edge restaurant in Cheshire.
According to our sources, jelly welly walking turned out to be lot harder than anyone thought; nevertheless, the whole team had a great time and weren’t at all deterred by squelchy feet or the wet weather.
All in all a grand total of £472.18 was raised for the RNLI by team Alderley Edge. Proud of their achievement, Nicola Shaw said: “All of our guests have been extremely generous and we would all like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated and well done to the gang for getting involved. We are all already racking our brains to think of ideas for next year”.
