Food and love are undeniably connected and, to quote George Bernard Shaw: “There is no love sincerer than the love of food”.

Love is in the air and we’re feeling rather poetic. While reading words of romance it got us thinking about our relationship with food...

When we eat food created with great pride and passion it has the power to excite our mind, body and soul in a way that is incomparable. Savouring fine food is considered to be one of life’s great pleasures, yet creating food that sparks real passion is an extraordinarily subtle art – one that blends evocative flavours, colours, textures and aromas that can touch our senses and send our spirit soaring.

This ethos runs through the heart of our food, and our Valentine’s menus stand testament to that. We are hugely proud of our enviable reputation as seafood experts (and more than a little modest), so we’ve embraced the most romantic time of the year with specially created menus to share our passion for seafood with you.

On 14 February, seafood lovers throughout the country can dine from our Valentine’s menu with Champagne. We want to make it a night for you to remember so this three-course dining experience has been created by our talented chefs to suit every taste and culinary desire.

Here’s just a taster...
Starting with a glass of Joseph Perrier Champagne on arrival, you can enjoy legendary dishes such as Loch Fyne oysters grilled with garlic butter and herb breadcrumbs – a heady mix given the effervescent effects of Champagne and the aphrodisiac association with oysters, (which are high in zinc, said to be one of the most important nutrients for the libido!).

For your main course, we have some delicious dishes to tantalise the taste buds. Try succulent whole grilled south coast lemon sole with herb butter; tender rib-eye steak with roasted celeriac, shallots and red wine sauce; or cooked-to-perfection pan-fried fillets of sea bass with braised fennel and seared Loch Fyne scallops - pure love on a plate.

And if you’re as passionate about puddings as we are, you can dive in to tempting treats including hot chocolate pudding with dark chocolate ice cream or poached pears with passion fruit sabayon – or both!

This is beautifully romantic cuisine served at its very best – with attention to every detail.

Sharing the food we love with those we love also forms part of our special relationships. Eating together makes up so many of life’s special moments and memories, but we know that finding the time is not always easy. We’ve thought of everything with a Valentine’s weekend brunch with fizz on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February. So you can take time to relax together over a bountiful brunch that comes complete with Bucks Fizz or Champagne: a choice of smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toast; full English breakfast; or divine Loch Fyne kippers – and of course, those magical ingredients: an appetite for life and a love of seafood.
