From KP to Area Chef


Loch Fyne Seafood Restaurants | Biographies : Agnelo TavaresAgnelo, or Nelo as he is known to his colleagues, joined Loch Fyne in 2000 as a kitchen porter in the Twickenham branch. Within the year, with the support of his Head Chef, Nelo moved up to Commis Chef and then Sous Chef.

Nelo was working with a supportive team at Twickenham and enjoying the Loch Fyne environment and in 2002 was promoted to Head Chef delivering profit, good food and leading his team by example.

In 2003 he become Loch Fyne Head Chef of the Year and saw two of his Sous Chefs promoted on to Head Chefs at other branches.  He then went on to take his skills and knowledge into several newly opened sites where an efficient, consistent and profitable kitchen was essential.

Since 2006, Nelo has been an Area Chef for Loch Fyne and now looks after 14 sites enjoying giving the teams kind of encouragement and guidance that was given to him.

Simon Griffiths

General Manager – Poole

Loch Fyne Seafood Restaurants | Biographies : simon-griffithsSimon started his career with Loch Fyne as a barman in the Winchester restaurant in November 2000.
His talents for organisation, management and customers service were recognised and he soon became part of the 'new openings' team opening Loch Fynes in Knowle and then Egham as an assistant manager. 

During this time, Simon visited the origins of the business with a trip to Loch Fyne in Scotland with colleagues from other restaurants.

He moved on to Poole where he became General Manager in July 2007, a site he still manages today.
Simon has won several company awards and incentives, the most recent culminating in a trip to Champagne in France.
